Beautiful Fall Weather

I had a chance to ride the bike yesterday, and it was perfect. Cool but not at all cold in the hills, and the roads were dry. Since it was the morning after Halloween it was pretty deserted up there too. It was a nice long way home ride, I’m just bummed I did not think to invite the Lovely Wife to meet me so we could have taken a ride together. Who knows how many of these days we’ll have.
I’ve definitely been bitten by the track bug though. Now that I’m more comfortable with going fast, the street riding I was doing was deliberately restrained. I felt myself holding back on lots of corners even though I knew where they went (which used to slow me down) I had no confidence that there wasn’t going to be a refrigerator in the middle of the road.

Which just confirmed the biggest thing holding me back is my fear.

About MotoCynic

I started riding motorcycles in 2006, and there is no going back. I've ridden more than 100,000 miles, most of it on a Ducati Monster, and despite setbacks and murderous BMW's I'm loving every mile.

I would say the fear is decently justified. While it might not have been a refrigerator, I do remember a lady in a sedan pulling a 3 point turn in the middle of a blind curve. Damn I miss my motorcycle….
